About Gentle Union

Gentle Union Calm Rooms began in 2019 when Léa Moret and Jonas Keller left larger Geneva renovation firms to focus on one question: how should a home hold quiet without turning into a showroom?

Founders and first commissions

Léa trained in interior architecture at HEAD Genève and spent six years specifying textiles for lakeside apartments in Cologny. Jonas came from acoustic consulting for office fit-outs, which taught him how hard surfaces in compact Genevan flats amplify every footstep.

Their first shared project was a Plainpalais attic where the owners wanted a corner for morning reading without blocking dormer light. That room — low ceiling, sloped wall, single north window — still shapes how we measure success: comfort at human scale, not magazine drama.

Calm is a spatial decision before it is a colour palette. We arrange the room so stillness has a place to sit.

Design only — never programmes

We style interiors for restful use: seating height, sight lines, fabric hand, lamp placement. We do not offer meditation coaching, therapy, retreats, or any operational wellness service.

When clients mention mindfulness practice, we translate that into layout, storage for cushions or books, and lighting that dims cleanly — always within the scope of interior styling.

Geneva as a material context

Stone façades along the Rhône, lacustrine humidity, and strict co-owner rules in PPE buildings all influence what we specify. We favour European makers with sensible lead times and pieces that fit service elevators in older blocks.

Our studio at Rue du Rhône 42 is a working reference room: limewash samples, shade cloth swatches, and scale models of common Genevan floor plans from the 1930s and 1960s.

Lake light moves fast across a white wall. We plan for the hour you actually use the room, not the noon photograph.

Team and collaborators

Four stylists work on site across the canton, supported by a part-time lighting draftsman and two upholstery workshops in Carouge. Léa leads textile direction; Jonas reviews acoustic and lighting notes on every commission above CHF 5,000.

We take on roughly thirty calm-room projects per year so each client receives direct attention from a named stylist through installation day.
